Jeremiah 9:23-24
23 Thus says the Lord:“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.
In the past year and a half, the world has bombarded with unimaginable tragedy and chaos. For me it seems this chaos has touched every area of my life; physical, mental, emotional, social, political, financial, and spiritual. On a certain day I was talking to the Lord about my feelings of loss and confusion based on what I was seeing all around me. And praise God, His Holy Spirit began speaking and reminded me I must live my life based on what I know about God and not what I see in the world or feel in my emotions. The Holy Spirit continued to give utterance and I began saying out loud what I know about Him, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I called Him Adonai, Rock, Comforter, Protector, Lover of my soul, Lifter of my head, my Redeemer, Teacher, Savior, Helper, etc. I KNOW this about Him.
